Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby established their studio in 1996, after the study of architecture at the Royal College of Art. That studio is situated in the east part of London. Their approach is characterized by unique materials, lines and colors, wonderfully inspired by natural beauty.
From these ideas grew up their creations which are a mix of art, innovation and exploration of materials used.
These ingredients have given birth to innovative designs such as the Tobi Ishi series, that could bring them to the top of world designers.
Examples of their creations can be found in major museums, such as the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York and the Design Museum in London.
Tobi Ishi line, Zen tables become real icons. Furthermore, the name itself refers to the polished stones (tobi - ishi) that were used as an ornamental function for traditional Japanese gardens.
