Arne Jacobsen

Nel 1929 progetta con Lassen una 'casa del futuro' per il concorso dell'Akademisk Arkitektforeningen. Qui si svolge il suo primo periodo di attività. In seguito si trasfertisce in Svezia, dove la sua attività principale è quella di disegnare tapezzerie e stoffe di design. Successivamente ritorna in Danimarca dove partecipa a svariati concorsi, vincendo nel 1961 il Grand Prix d'Architecture et d'Art.

L'architettura di Jacobsen risulta essere un mix fra i concetti perseguiti dai movimenti d'avanguardia dei primi anni venti del novecento e i concetti essenziali dell'architettura danese. La conseguenza del mix di questi concetti crea una architettura pura, nette, precisa, dove l'utilizzo di materiali come il mattone ed il legno e la creazione di piccole aperture quadrate inquadrano gli edifici in masse volumetriche ampie e ben definite nello spazio. Tutti questi concetti vengono poi trasmessi nelle rivoluzionarie idee di design che pongono Jacobsen come uno dei maestri del design moderno.

The chair is a chair designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the Radisson hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. The chair was created according to the typical Jacobsen style ie using modern materials.
